Mee Siput Muar, AKA dried yellow noodles, is a famous local snack which originated and is most available in Muar, Johor, Malaysia. It got its name as it is made of wheat flour that shaped into noodle thread and swirled like the shell of a snail, or siput in Malay. can be fried and eat as snack food(deep-fried in cooking oil until crispy and crunchy), can be cooked as noodles ( noodles soup, char mee, mee hailam …), no preservatives at all. As its dried food, it can be stored for a year. If you can cook, this is another nice dried noodles to be stored rather than just instant noodles.

Tips to fry (eat as snack food):

– Fry it with real hot oil.

– It is best eaten with sambal; chili sauce or paste.

– Can be continue cooked and coated with chili / sugar after fried

Tips to cook ( as noodles):

– you don’t have to add salt or just add a little will do, because salt is added during the process.
